A DARK TALE
Story & Illustration - Emma Rios
Words - Janine Rios
The story begins, within a theatre house.
The hands pull back the curtain, on what this tales about.
Working in the costume department, is a young girl called Kate.
She gets to work early, but always finishes late.
A starlet of old, is the boss of the department.
This now silent old lady still fills Kate with enchantment.
They work together in a dazzling rush.
To fix up the actors, with a tug and a brush.
When the play's have all finished, and the
Crowds have gone home.
Kate tries on the costumes, when she's all alone.
A beautiful bunny suit, she comes across one night.
She popped it on, then strangely enough, things around
her come to life. It was as if the world she knew so well,
Had disappeared under a spell.
Little creatures circled around her, they played and gave Kate a fright. For they danced around behind her, and made Kate dance all through the night.
In the morning, all that was left for the chorus line to find,
Was an exhausted little Kate, who looked like she'd lost her mind. She was brought to the old lady, (whom
was thought best to know what to do),
With a silent smile, she unlocked a secret door, and Kate into it she through. So down Kate fell, into a giant size funnel,
And like many before her, she mixed into a
perfumed time tunnle.. Finally Kate became nothing more,
Than a sweet smelling mist, of what she once was before.
This magic perfume that Kate has been added to, is sprayed onto
the actors before every show.
'No wonder' we cry, for we had no idea', why there was so much wonder and magic, on stage, every show. So the story concludes, as we turn the last page. The magic of theatre is reviled
on the stage.
A BAR AT THE FOLIES BERGERE
Emma Rios & Dan Price
Taking the most intriguing elements of Manet's 'A Bar at the Folies Bergere' we created an interactive 18th century kaleidoscopic den for Intel's 'Remastered' exhibition held at 1 Marylebone. We shoot performer Natalie Monroe
as our modern day bar maid.

SHAPE YOUR MUSIC EXPERINCE
Art Direction - Emma Rios

Taking inspiration from Roxy Music's - 'In Every Dream Home a Heart Ache' - we created this shoot & screen print.
IN EVERY DREAM HOME A HEART ACHE
In every dream home a heartche, and every step I take
Takes me further from heaven, is there a heaven?
I'd like to think so, standards of living
They're rising daily, but home oh sweet home
Its only a saying, from bell push to faucet
In smart town apartment, the cottage is pretty
The main house a palace, penthouse perfection
But what goes on, what to do there
Better pray there, open plan living
Bungalow ranch style, all of its comforts
Seem so essential, brought you mail order
My plain wrapper bab, your skin is like vinyl
The perfect companion, you float in my new pool
De luxe and delightful, inflatable doll,
My role is to serve you, disposable darling
Can't throw you away now, immortal and life size
My breath is inside you, I'll dress you up daily
And keep you till death sighs, Inflatable doll
Lover ungrateful, I blew up your body
But you blew my mind, Oh thoseheartaches, Dreamhome heartaches.
